SOUTHERN STATES VIII WOODTURNING SYMPOSIUM
Georgia Mountains Center, Gainesville, GA
Thanks to everyone that attended, we had another 'great' Symposium. 278 total in attendance, and raised $8,675 at the Auction, the proceeds of which go towards awarding 7 full scholarships to the John C. Campbell Folk School. Sincere thanks to all the people that participated in winning the bids at the Auction.
Very special thanks to:
- Our 4 featured demonstrators - Betty Scarpino, John Mascoll, Graeme Priddle, and Avelino Samuel. Thanks for giving of your time and special talents to share with the attendees.
- Our guest demonstraors - Dave Barriger, Wilford Bickel, Jim Burrowes, Nick Cook, Barbara Crockett, Kirk DeHeer, and Marty Libman.
- John Hill for graciously volunteering to be our auctioneer. Believe John got every dollar that was available, and then some!
- The vendors that signed on to be a part of our symposium. We hope you had good sales and will return for our 9th Symposium. And one big thanks for your donations to our Auction.
- All the guys that volunteered to man the video cameras during the presentations. And to the wives that helped out at Registration, Instant Gallery, and the Auction.
- To those that donated item(s) to the Auction. We appreciate your contributions and support.
- All that brought their woodturned items for display in the Instant Gallery - there were many great pieces for everyone's enjoyment.
